We leave our bivouac after breakfast, traversing back through the dunes to Remlia where we refuel. Turning north we pass through another section of fesh fesh, stop for a drink at a local desert auberge in a gorge, and then on to very fast tracks across a never ending dry lake bed; along winding sandy trails and riverbeds.
Refuel from the 4x4 somewhere out here and then on to the village of Al Nif where we get lunch in a local cafe and refuel again. We have now left the desert.
Continuing on our northerly route we cross the Jebel Saghro mountains on twisting trails with dramatic rock formations and amazing scenery with long drop offs down into the rocky valleys, until we come out onto the plateau which leads us a short distance on asphalt to our next night’s accommodation, a beautiful old castle set at the end of a track road in the Gorge. Wonderful central open section through the building shows the Moroccan designed ceiling. Nice places and quiet corners to sit outside and a swimming pool.
