More beautiful backroads today. Pass through small mountain villages and see the locals working their land, local souks and markets. Lunch stop en route. About 100kms from our destination we enter the beautiful cedar forests this area is known for. Maybe get to see some barbary apes that live here! We visit the town of Ifrane, “Little Switzerland” as it’s called due to the A-line roofline architecture and the cooler summer temperatures.
On arrival change and a guided visit straight into this ancient Medina – the largest populated medina in the world after Mecca. Over 4000 families live her. Narrow streets form a labyrinth through the souks and bazaars. It also houses the oldest continuously operating, degree giving university “Madrasa” in the world. We will stay in a small ryad style hotel in the medina with it’s own courtyard pool.
