AND THEY'RE OFF!The first leg of Moto Aventures' Sountern Africa Tour with Charley Boorman is under way! The start of a 'once in a lifetime' adventure that will take them across southern Africa.
Here are a few important things you should know with regards to your safety when coming on one of our Adventure tours:
Our assistance vehicle follows the same route/track as the bikes do, and is always reasonably close behind.
Our assistance vehicle carries a first aid kit and medical safety equipment.
The assistance vehicle and a motorcycle guide, carry satellite telephones.
There is a GPS available for every 3 bikes and the assistance vehicles each have one.
The main assistance vehicle has a satellite telephone installed meaning a permanent connection is available should it be needed regardless of where we are. Our bike guide always carries a portable satellite phone in his backpack, so a link can be established with the assistance vehicle, or elsewhere, at any time.
We also offer use of our sat phones to clients should they need to call from somewhere where mobile phone coverage is nonexistent. It must be said though that mobile coverage in Southern Africa is expanding at a very high rate and most places we travel to will be within coverage.
