Motoaventures organised a great trip on the Desert Tour for a small group of us back in September 07. John and Su are fantastically organised, and we simply turned up in Morocco and everything was there. The kit is excellent, bikes great, plenty of freedom, with great back up if needed. The routes are very beautiful, with amazing trails, and we returned most evenings to very civilised hotels with pools and great food. Bikes were serviced each night, and any glitches were sorted by the mechanic. Couldn’t recommend this outfit more. It is also good value for what you get.

Desert Tour Sept '07
Once in a while in this increasingly molly coddled age that we live in you come across someone that adheres to the tried and tested values of common sense, detailed planning and personal responsibility for your actions. I entrusted John and Su to look after myself and 10 of my best mates on their epic desert tour in October 2007. John explained on day one the many ways we could kill ourselves, the two things we had to remember to stay alive, and where the on button was. For the next six days we charged across desert and plain, assaulted massive dunes, and whipped up dry river beds, sometimes for up to 10 hours in a day. Stunning scenery, amazingly resilient bikes, fantastic food and accommodation, and a backup machine the envy of any tonka toy enthusiast. See you next year.

It was not just the great terrain, tracks and well organised tour that made this a very memorable trip, but also an awesome bunch of people that really made this a very special holiday..!
Yes Mr John the little fat guy was not just looking for sympathy… I have fractured the ”proximal humerus”, luckily it doesn’t seem as if I’ve torn anything…

A short note of thanks to Ming the Merciless and Mini Ming for the great tour we had last week.
I cannot see how it could have been better, a truly memorable experience, made unforgettable by the moroccan tummy bugs which seem to have affected all of us in the group.
Motoaventures professionalism was outstanding, the bikes were good and well maintained, the route wonderful, and we were lucky I think with the group, a great bunch of guys. Getting to know the Merciless one through the week I guess he would dismiss my comments re the bikes etc., and that is perhaps why the tour runs so well. Mini Ming was a great leader of the tour, and Hussein worked tirelessly to ensure the bikes were kept to the high standards of your company.
Great fun , and great memories, and a few new friendships, what a great week.

Hi Su,
I just wanted to write you a short note, on behalf of myself and the rest of the non "elite" 'Tahir' group, to thank you, John, Jens and Hussain for a thoroughly enjoyable 10 days in Morrocco. Notwithstanding the tumbles and several brushes with serious injury, we all had a fantastic time and struggle to think of a better time we have had on holiday. Having said that, I think if we'd had any real incling of the difficulty of the riding, we would have got in some serious and extended practice / training......but we would still have come.
Before coming on the trip, I had read posts on several forums by people who had been on trips with you and some of the comments about John were not particularly complimentary and he was obviously going to be an interesting character. Having met and, through my inadequacy as an off road rider, spent more time than I should have done in the Land Rover with John, I can only say that John was immensely patient, understanding and extremely good humoured with us and clearly went out of his way to assist us in getting the most out of the experience. Thanks, John. Similarly, Jens was mature beyond his years. Badshah told him directly that he was a credit to John and, although that may have been slightly embarrassing at the time, he was right.
John was amazed that we made it through to the end without broken bodies and was clearly beginning to see the power and protection of Islam and reversion was obviously looming. The fact that Majid was diagnosed with two cracked (not broken) ribs when we got back to Marrakech, we put down to the fact that the Almighty was punishing us for fraternising with crusading infidels. Incidentally, he got the injury flying onto the bars in the dunes but he's fine now.
We hope to see you next year for one or other of the tours - maybe one of the gentler ones - but we are determined not to be characterised as stragglers and bike killers. We're all looking to buy KTMs and will be able to do them justice next time.

Just wanted to drop an email to say a big thank you to you, John, Adam and Hussain. The scenery was amazing, The trails were awesome. But the rapport we had with you guy's made the holiday.

Ce message un peu tardif (les obligations reprennent si vite le dessus !) pour vous remercier encore pour ce périple marocain que nous avons vraiment tous apprécié.
Bravo pour l’organisation parfaite de ces 5 journées dans le désert !
Un petit débriefe de la semaine :
- 1ère journée à Ouarzazate sympa pour la découverte du pays (histoire de ne pas enfourcher les motos à la sortie de l’avion …), les décors de cinéma vraiment à voir.
- mercredi départ dans les montagnes et les pistes, assez physique pour une première journée de moto. 1 GPS pour 2 motos, c’est vraiment bien pour se sentir autonome, sans être obligé de rouler en groupe (un petit parfum d’aventure !). Bivouac du soir au pied des 1ères dunes (tant attendues lorsqu’on vient au Maroc …) très réussi même si c’était un peu improvisé !
- jeudi : bonne journée de moto dans les dunes, bivouac très accueillant, hammam très apprécié.
- vendredi : ballade sympa dans les dunes (super terrain de jeu !). Un peu dommage que nous ayons manqué d’essence l’après-midi.
- samedi : dunes gigantesques très impressionnantes (surtout quand on a le vertige) : un grand plaisir de les grimper. Superbe hôtel bienvenu après quelques jours de moto.
- dimanche : retour magnifique dans les montagnes, la plus belle journée pour les paysages, extraordinaires et surprenants. Le retour par la route nous a rappelé notre dernier périple, pleins de souvenirs.
En bref, un séjour très réussi dont nous vous remercions tous, en espérant revenir un jour !

Bonjour John,
Mon épaule me fait toujours un peu mal, mais ce n'est rien de bien méchant.
Concernant le séjour, je voulais vraiment vous remercier, car nous avons encore passé une semaine fantastique et c'est peu dire.
Les Points négatifs: Le manque d'essences lors d'une de nos journée
Le fech fech (peut être a cause de ma chute)
Les passages du tour La méga dune, un peu flipante mais quel bonheur!!
incontournables: L'arrivée à Merzouga pour les couleurs et contrastes du paysage montagne/dunes.
Les dunes de Merzouga Bien Sur!!
Les pauses déjeuné dans les petites auberges
marocaines fabuleuses
La dernière journée dans la montagne, les pistes et les
paysages.
L'hotel " le Xaluca" après quelques jours de bivouac
pour une bonne nuite de repos avant la dernière
journée.
Les points forts: Les motos top !
Le GPS
La formule Hôtel/bivouac -bivouac/hôtel
L'ensemble des paysages rencontrés et leurs
différences et de relief de couleurs.
Le tour programmé rien que pour nous, a la demande
en fonction de envies du groupe.
Votre équipe et l'assistance
Une équipe d'amis sans histoires
Le même niveau de moto, plutôt homogène
Les dernières journées, nous avons roulé par deux pilotes avec 1 Gps pour deux, c'était vraiment bien, les équipes de deux roulaient espacées de plusieurs KTM, ont est plus concentré, ont a moins de poussière. A retenir pour tes futurs groupes.
C'est difficile de trouver des points négatifs sur ton tour tout est parfait.

Crec que el que he fet i vist aquest dies amb vosaltres serà quelcom difícil d'oblidar. Impossible!
Us vull donar les gracies a tot l'equip per la vostra professionalitat i serios compromis de qualitat que en tot moment m'heu demostrat i que m'ha permes gaudir d'un magnific tour amb bones motos, en un molt bon estat (difícil tasca aquesta tenint en compte un condicionant terreny tant exigent), amb un magnific i estudiat recorregut que permet gaudir d'impresionants visions d'aquest desconegut fins ara per mi Marroc.
He pogut constatar la riquesa natural i paisagística del Marroc sud, concretament de l'Atlas i els seus voltants, els contrastos que ofereix i veure de primera ma una forma de vida diferent i una manera de ser oberta i hospitalaria dels marroquins berebers que en tot moment han estat super amables amb nosaltres.
En total uns 1700 kilometres per pistes, rius secs i amb aigua (molta), desert, pedres i mes pedres, dunes, montanyes i valls, fent el que mes m'agrada, anant en moto per fora carretera, esport malvist per molts i que cada cop es mes complicat de practicar per les meves contrades.
